New Zealand law requires we demonstrate a preference with 95% of our roll having a connection to the Catholic Church. If your son has a connection to the Catholic Church, please download the preference form below and return it to the office at St John's College.

We have a number of Scholarships available for students. Below is the paperwork to be completed for the Scholarships.
- Principal’s Year 9 Scholarships - There are a number of Principal’s Scholarships available.
- Smith Family Scholarship - $2000 Excellence in Academia, Sport, extra curricular
- Peter Arthur Scholarship - 3 Scholarships $850 each, 2 Scholarships $1000 each.
- St John’s College PFA Scholarship - $750
- St John’s College Old Boys’ Scholarship - $750
- Hibernian Society (St Joseph’s Branch) Scholarship - $850
- Hastings Area St Vincent de Paul Scholarship - $750
- Napier Area St Vincent de Paul Scholarship - $750
- Hastings Rugby & Sports Club - $650 Year 9 Student must play for Hastings Rugby and Sports Rugby Club
- Napier Old Boys’ Marist Rugby Club - $750 Year 9 Student must play for Napier Old Boys’ Marist Rugby Club
