St John’s College Accounts -2012  

Please pay outstanding accounts as soon as possible.

We Endeavour to keep all our costs to a minimum.  The College subsidies all expenditure and trips but we need all parents/ caregivers to contribute so can provide a wide range of opportunities for all students

The following is a summary of our charges.

Activity Fee $130.00

This is a tax deductible donation; however it is essential to the running of the College.  It covers extra resources that students require, costs associated with our computer network, our computer technician and some sports and cultural expenses.  The Activity Fee has been set at $130 for 1 son, $110 per student for 2 sons and $100 per student for 3 or more sons. 

Special Character Levy $110 ($160 for a family with two or more sons)

This levy covers the costs associated with our Youth Minister, student retreats, Chapel expenses, the National Network of Marist Schools and helps us to provide professional development related to our Special Catholic Character.


Magazine $16.00

Our College Magazine The Eagle will be available at prize giving in December 2010.  This year the cost is $16.

St John’s College Diary $10.00

This is handed out to all students at the beginning of the year.  If they need to purchase another one these are available at the office.


Materials Technology (full year course) Year 10: $100

This is to cover the consumable items, wood and materials required in Materials Technology.  Once projects are completed and the fee paid students may take them home.

Materials Technology Year 11, 12 & 13: $110

This is to cover the consumable items, wood and materials required in Materials Technology.  Once projects are completed and the fee paid students may take them home.


Food Technology / Materials Technology Year 10: $100

This is to cover the items required in Food Technology and Materials Technology.


Culinary Arts Year 11 & 12: $70

This is to cover the items required in Culinary Arts.  Text / workbooks will also be required, costing approximately $70.  ($140 total)


Enterprise Food Technology Year 13:  $70

This is to cover the items required in Enterprising Food Technology. 

Year 11 & Year 12 Physical Education Course: $50

This is to cover costs and resources plus hiring facilities as required, professional lessons as required and workbooks.

Year 13 Physical Education Course: $70

This is to cover costs and resources plus hiring facilities as required and workbooks.

Year 9 Technology: $50

A $50 charge is included on all Year 9 students’ accounts to cover the material costs for items made during the year in the five technology modules.  The students take projects home on completion.


Religious Studies Year 9: $25

A trip is organized around Hawkes Bay and a workbook provided.


Individual subjects homework books, workbooks and revision books.

These books are kept by students.  Teachers set homework and revision exercises from them.


Music tuition: $120.00

Students who receive tuition are charged $120 for the total year.  Some instruments are available for hire at $120 per year.


Sport

The College subsidies the cost of all College sports and teams. However it is still necessary to charge students a fee to play sport to cover affiliation fees, entry fees, uniforms and sports equipment.

Catholic Schools Board Fees $716 ($179 per term)

These dues are payable directly to Catholic Schools Board Ltd however payments may be made at the College office and we will forward them.  They are used to pay off loans raised to fund new building works, large repairs and maintenance jobs and building related costs.


Costs will be added to your account throughout the year as they arise.

Costs may be subject to change
