Welcome to Science
What will I study?
Science takes on a whole new excitement with students having access to new laboratories and equipment. Students commence the year with an introductory unit called ‘Working in the Laboratory’. Here they learn how to work with science equipment correctly, as well as handle and use different chemicals safely.
Throughout the year students will complete a further nine units looking into various aspects of:
The Living World
The Physical World
The Materials World
Planet Earth & Beyond
What skills will I learn?
Each of the units provides students with the opportunity to improve their skills in:
· Researching information and communicating ideas
· Planning and carrying out investigations
· Applying scientific knowledge
· Working both independently and as part of a team
· Processing and interpreting information
