The bird that partakes in the food of the miro tree will inherit the forest.
The bird that partakes in the food that knowledge has to offer will inherit the world.

The proveb above is an  expression of incouragement to all the young men who attend St Johns College.
It is by taking part in the educational oppurtunities at St Johns that they will be able to establish for themseleves a secure place in the future, wherever it may be in this world with confidence.
